Author Guidelines

Ficco Public Health Journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, and short communications related to public health. Authors are advised to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth submission and publication process.

Manuscript Submission

  • Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.
  • Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents, and datasets.
  • All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author.
  • Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.
  • An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise, and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper.
  • When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets, and other material provided with this submission.

Manuscript Structure

A manuscript should include the following sections:

  • Title Page – Title, author names, affiliations, and corresponding author contact details.
  • Abstract – A concise summary (150-250 words) covering the study’s background, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords – 3-6 keywords that represent the core topics of the study.
  • Introduction – Background, research gap, objectives, and significance of the study.
  • Methods – Detailed methodology, including study design, data collection, and analysis techniques.
  • Results and Discussion – Findings presented in text, tables, and figures, along with interpretations, comparisons with existing studies, and limitations.
  • Conclusion – Key takeaways and implications for research or practice.
  • Acknowledgment – Recognition of contributors, funding sources, or other relevant acknowledgments.
  • References – Citations should follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style.

Formatting Requirements

  • The manuscript should be in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  • Font: Segoe UI Variable, 11 pt, single-spaced.
  • Tables and figures should be placed within the text and properly labeled.
  • References must be cited in the text and listed at the end of the manuscript following APA style (7th edition).

Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, including obtaining necessary approvals for human or animal studies.
  • Plagiarism and duplicate submission are strictly prohibited.
  • The journal follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for publication ethics.

Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject area.
  • The review process typically takes 4-8 weeks.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Currently, Ficco Public Health Journal does not charge any submission or publication fees.
